Hello, Friends.
Before I give you an update on my Alzheimer’s Journey, I have to express Linda’s and my excitement that the Carolina Hurricanes won the Stanley Cup.
As I expressed previously, I have never been a fan of organized sports. I simply focused on other interests and pursuits. Now, that AD has changed so many aspects of my life, I have time available to watch a few games.
I have become a big fan of the Carolina Hurricanes. It is rather difficult not to be a supporter of this awesome hometown hockey team. Last night, the Hurricanes won the Stanley Cup by beating the Las Vegas Golden Knights 3 to 0.
The excitement of the team, the Hurricanes organization, and the community is almost indescribable. Last night’s game was held in Las Vegas. There were numerous watch parties held in Chapel Hill, Durham, and Raleigh. The celebrations after the game were joyous, happy, and prideful.
The excitement is contagious. The Hurricane’s win actually made me happy.
I will write an article later today about the mental health benefits of being a sports fan. The article will be published in Greg’s Alzheimer’s Research Report.
Over the weekend, I toke a corticosteroid Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, It reduced the frequency of my chills substantially. I had a severe chill early this morning. I assume the chills will continue to taper off as my immune system returns to normal.
